NYC Women In Reggae Festival

Join us at SOB’s as we celebrate the iconic women shaping Caribbean and reggae music.

Kicking off the lineup is Sister Nancy – the legendary dancehall deejay who paved the way for women in Caribbean music.

Lila Iké and Naomi Cowan will follow suit, representing the next generation of rising stars in reggae.

Founded in 1982, SOB’s has served as New York City’s home for Caribbean music for 40+ years. Amongst the first to take the stage were legends like Burning Spear, Gregory Issacs, Toots and the Maytals, U-Roy, and Dennis Brown, followed by contemporary icons like the Marley Brothers (Ziggy, Julian, and Stephen), Chronixx, Kabaka Pyramid, Federation Sound, and Protoje, to name a few.
